Are We About to See a Wave of Dead AI Startups?

Are We Entering a Wave of AI Startups That Won’t Stand the Test of Time?

There’s no denying the current rush to launch AI-focused ventures. Tools like Claude, Replit, and Cursor have lowered barriers, making it easier than ever to develop and ship products in a short window. Yet a cloud of concern looms: could this be a fad that yields a substantial number of failed ventures in the next 6 to 12 months?

Many AI startups appear to be gaining early traction, but initial momentum doesn’t guarantee lasting success. The true measure will be whether users continue to rely on these products once the novelty fades and the hype dies down.

If current trends continue, we may be heading toward a period where several seemingly successful AI startups are no longer around a year from now.

What’s your take? Are you observing a similar pattern, or do you believe this cycle will stabilize and deliver durable, long-term solutions?
